Independent MEP Janice Atkinson has praised President Trump and his chief of staff Steve Bannon for their stand in pulling out of the Paris Climate Change Treaty, saying that the President’s action shows him as a man with “the guts to stand up to “global elites and their Green hobbies”.
In a speech to the European Parliament in which she wished the US President a happy 71st birthday, she recalled that last month she colleagues from the Europe of Nations and Freedom (ENF) grouping in the Parliament wrote urging him to pull out of the Paris agreement.
“We were delighted that he did just that,” she said.
The President, she added was living up to his promises to put America and American jobs first, to protect the nation state and its citizens from terror and other perils and to fight back against globalisation and global interests.
His policies, like Brexit, she said had challenged the cosy status quo in Brussels and Strasbourg. And in a direct message to the President and his top aide, she said:
“Good luck and we wish you and Steve Bannon well. You’re winning and we’re winning, despite the rhetoric and despite Theresa May messing up last week.”
Janice is the MEP for South East England and sits in the European Parliament with members of the right wing ENF group which campaigns for a Europe of independent and sovereign nation states working and trading harmoniously rather than being bound by the regulations and bureaucracy of the EU.
